Taiwan's TSMC, the world's largest contract manufacturing company, has established its second base in Japan to provide advanced semiconductor design support in Chuo-ku, Osaka.

The company plans to expand employment at domestic bases, including Osaka, and is expected to lead to the development of semiconductor human resources.

The base in Osaka was established by TSMC, the world's largest contract manufacturer of semiconductors, and the inside was opened to the press before the operation from the 1st.

At the newly established base, we will provide design support for companies around the world to introduce cutting-edge semiconductors centered on 3 nanometers.

This is TSMC's second location in Japan after Yokohama, and in 2026 the number of employees working at the Osaka and Yokohama locations will double to more than 400.

With respect to advanced semiconductors, there is a large gap in technological capabilities with manufacturers in the United States, Taiwan, and other countries.

Takuya Yasui, director of the "TSMC Japan Design Center" said, "We are expanding the bases where excellent human resources gather, and the activities of Japanese people at the base in Yokohama have been recognized. A famous university in Kansai also has a semiconductor laboratory. There are many, and I hope that such students will enter the semiconductor industry."
