According to the requirements of the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products", the recall plan has been filed with the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the following vehicles are planned to be recalled.
1. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd.
Starting from November 30, 2022, a total of 131,924 imported GLE SUVs and GLS SUVs with a production date between May 21, 2019 and April 22, 2022 will be recalled.
Due to deviations in the assembly process of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the rear door window glass trim strips are not firmly fixed.
During the driving process of the vehicle, the rear door window glass trim strip may become loose or fall off, which increases the risk of accidents or injury to other road users around the vehicle, posing safety hazards.
Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will, through authorized dealers, check whether the rear door window glass trim strips are firmly fixed for the recalled vehicles.
If it is loose, check whether the bracket of the decorative strip is damaged. If the bracket is intact, reinstall the bracket; if the bracket is damaged, replace the corresponding rear door triangle window to eliminate potential safety hazards.
2. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd.
Starting from January 13, 2023, a total of 29,251 imported GLS SUVs with a production date between January 25, 2019 and June 23, 2022 will be recalled.
The springs in the third-row seat back lock mechanism of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may not be installed as required, resulting in failure of the third-row seat back lock in the event of a vehicle collision, and the seat back fixation will be affected. Increase the risk of occupant injury and pose a safety hazard.
Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will check the springs in the locking mechanism of the third-row seat backs for the recalled vehicles through authorized dealers.
If the spring is missing or not installed correctly, the corresponding seat back frame will be replaced free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
3. Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd.
Starting from December 19, 2022, some C-class cars with a production date between October 28, 2021 and December 27, 2021 will be recalled, totaling 3,041 vehicles.
Due to deviations in the manufacturing process of the transmission support for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the welding seam of the transmission support may crack.
The forces and vibrations that occur while the vehicle is in motion can damage the derailleur mounts, causing the derailleur to drop in height.
In extreme cases, the connection between the transmission and the propshaft could break, causing the vehicle to lose power.
In addition, damaged parts may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury to other road users around the vehicle or accidents, presenting a safety hazard.
Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will check the production time of the transmission support for the recalled vehicles through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers. If the production time is within the affected range, the transmission support will be replaced free of charge to eliminate the safety Hidden danger.
