A sharp rise in property tax is to be expected in the Haute-Vienne department, reports

Le Populaire

.

The daily relies on “the first projections and forecasts of many elected officials”.

Between 2020 and 2022, 72 municipalities out of 195, including a majority located around Limoges, had already increased the amount of the tax.

The largest increases had affected Bellac (+14.1%), which saw an increase of €70 per taxpayer.

La Croisille-sur-Briance (+10.77%) and Vaulry (+10.20%) follow.

An increase planned in Limoges

Whatever their evolution, the tax rates on built property remain the highest in Saint-Junien (47.49%), Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre (46.12%) and Saint-Yrieix-la- Perch (45.81%).

In Limoges, the rate remains rather low (38.3%) but its mayor, Emile Roger Lombertie does not see how to avoid an increase in 2023. The community is also affected by soaring energy prices and the disappearance of housing tax.

The increase in 2023 could therefore be strong, unless the government votes to introduce a tax shield.
