Saudi Arabia launches a scheme for one of the world's largest airports in Riyadh

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the launch of the master plan for King Salman International Airport, to keep pace with the continuous growth in the population of the capital, Riyadh, which is expected to reach between 15 and 20 million by 2030, according to the Saudi Press Agency today.

The new airport will support Saudi Arabia's plans to make Riyadh among the world's ten largest cities.

King Salman Airport will extend over an area of ​​approximately 57 square kilometers, in addition to 12 square kilometers of support facilities, residential and entertainment assets, shops, and many logistical facilities.

The airport will increase its capacity to reach 120 million passengers by 2030.

It also aims to reach 185 million passengers and pass up to 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050.
