DEWA inaugurates two transport stations at a cost of 518 million dirhams

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has inaugurated a main transmission station with a voltage of 11/132 kilovolts in the “Al Aweer First” housing area, with a total capacity of 150 MVA, and a cost of 180 million dirhams.

It also inaugurated a new main transmission station, with a voltage of “400,132 kilovolts” in the “Jebel Ali First” area, and its overhead lines, with a total capacity of 2,000 MVA, and a cost of 338 million dirhams.

The authority stated that the total number of transmission stations with a voltage of “400 kilovolts” increases to 27, and the number of transmission stations with a voltage of “132 kilovolts” to 333 stations, in addition to 30 new transmission stations with a voltage of “132 kilovolts” under construction.

The authority revealed that it had also awarded contracts for the construction of five new main transmission stations with a voltage of “11/132 kilovolts” in the citizens’ housing areas in each of “Wadi Al-Amradi”, “Wadi Al-Shabak”, “Nad Hessa”, “Al-Khawaneej Al-Thani”, and “Al-Awir Al-Oula”. » At a total cost of 440 million dirhams.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, affirmed the authority's commitment to promoting the causes of a decent life for citizen families, by providing the necessary infrastructure to implement the integrated housing plan, which came under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State. Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to provide 15,800 homes for citizens in Dubai over the next four years, and to raise the quality of life in all residential neighborhoods for citizens.

He added, "We are working to provide an advanced infrastructure that ensures the continued provision of electricity and water services in accordance with the highest standards of availability, reliability and efficiency, keeping pace with Dubai's prosperity, and achieving the Dubai Urban Plan 2040."
