Dubai Customs launched an awareness campaign about its digital services and innovative initiatives related to procedures that facilitate the movement of tourists and travelers.

The Department stated that it is seeking to achieve the maximum benefit from this campaign, due to the doubling of the number of travelers coming to the country now, as a result of the momentum of events and successive events, as the UAE is distinguished by its winter season, in addition to receiving tens of thousands of World Cup fans in Qatar, and the imminent launch of the Dubai Shopping Festival, which It will run from December 15, 2022 to January 29, 2023.

Dubai Customs stated that it aims through this campaign, which is launched from Al Maktoum International Airport, to introduce travelers and raise their level of awareness of smart systems that allow them to complete their transactions in a few minutes through smart devices, as well as to define what is permitted and prohibited to carry with the traveler. .

The campaign included information panels for the "Smart Early Disclosure" application, which allows those coming to Dubai to pre-disclose (goods, personal effects, gifts, coins, and cash) that came with the traveler. The application also provides a feature to request the completion of incoming transactions before arriving in the country. This shortens the time for them to cross the “red path” to complete customs procedures in less than four minutes.

Dubai Customs pointed out that the awareness campaign includes introducing the “customs guide for travelers” that it provides on its website, and includes introducing travelers to the luggage that is authorized when traveling, prohibited materials, and luggage exempt from customs duties and taxes, and collecting excess baggage fees over what is allowed to be transported. .
