15,000 trademarks registered in the UAE within 10 months

The «Economy» confirmed that the great activity in trademarks supports the country's position as a global center for major companies.


The Ministry of Economy revealed that more than 15,051 new trademarks were registered in the country during the first 10 months of this year, noting that 705 new trademarks were registered last month alone, as a result of the country's growing attractiveness as a major center for business, investment and trade in the region and the world.

The ministry explained in a recent report that Emirates Today obtained a copy of it, that the registered trademarks included various sectors and fields in the country, some of which are commodity and the other service, and also included local companies and major regional and international companies, governmental, semi-governmental and private investing in the Emirates.

The ministry indicated that the trademarks registered during last October witnessed a great diversity, as they included 75 main sectors and fields by local, regional and foreign companies within the country and in the free zones.

She added that these brands included new sectors for the first time, representing the new economy, most notably the "metavirus" sector and "robots" systems, in addition to the technology and e-commerce sectors, as well as electronic delivery services and technical solutions.

She stated that the new brands included other sectors, including catering services and milling equipment industry, in addition to transportation, general trade, corporate services, wholesale and retail, electronics, investment and holding companies.

The Ministry of Economy confirmed that this great activity in the trademark sector registered in the country supports the position of the UAE as a regional and global center for major companies, which take the country as a preferred headquarters for production and manufacturing within the country and in free zones, to meet the needs of the local market, export and re-export to various countries.

She also stressed that this supports the country's position as a major destination for retail trade and various shopping brands, especially with the increase in demand for various goods and services in light of the ease of doing business and facilitating the procedures for registering goods and services.
