The Government has presented its Plan + Energy Security, with which it intends to deal with the crisis in this sector and guarantee supply for winter.

To do this, it announces 73 measures such as aid for the installation of solar panels or a tool that will share the consumption of its neighbors on citizens' bills so that they can compare it.

The Minister for Energy Transition, Teresa Ribera, emphasized in the press conference after the Council of Ministers the steps that Moncloa had previously taken, such as regulating thermostats or turning off lights at night, in addition to the different discounts on the bill.

"Spain has been responding with different measures over the months," she said.

Although the plan is made up of 73 measures, the Executive boasts 10 points, ranging from protection for the most vulnerable to aid to install solar panels or greater investment in the PERTE of renewables.

There will be greater coverage for the thermal bonus and the electricity bonus and the population will be expanded with protection and a reduction in the bill "for 1.6 million households with community boilers", but, otherwise, the savings seem to be put in the shoulders of the energy transition.

Thus, the Government announces aid -500 million euros- for self-consumption and "more facilities for energy communities and industries", in addition to "tax aid for investment by households in energy transition".

There is a high educational component that reaches the point where the bill collects information on consumption in the district and advice on how to save.

The Executive intends to reduce gas consumption between 5.1% and 13.5%, although Ribera made reference in his speech to the large export of electricity to Portugal and, above all, France that has taken place this summer.

At this time, combined cycle power plants - that is, gas - have been used more than ever.
