[Explanation] After 8 days of intense construction, Hubei Xingang Expressway Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge completed the pouring of the first main tower pile foundation on October 8, which marked the start of construction of this steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1430 meters and its connection project .

The bridge is also the twelfth Yangtze River bridge within the city of Wuhan.

  [Explanation] Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge is located in the lower reaches of Wuhan. The north bank of the bridge is located in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, and the south bank is located in Huarong District, Ezhou City, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

Among them, the main bridge adopts a double-tower single-span steel box girder suspension bridge structure with a main span of 1430 meters to cross the river.

  [Explanation] Liu Runze, chief engineer of the Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge Project Department of China Railway Bridge Bureau, introduced that the bridge has four characteristics of "large span, wide deck, high main tower, and new materials".

Among them, the main span is 1,430 meters long, which is in the forefront of the same type of structure; the bridge deck adopts the two-way eight-lane construction standard, and the bridge is 50.5 meters wide; The cable steel wire adopts a new type of zinc-aluminum rare-earth alloy coated steel wire, which improves the corrosion resistance of the steel wire.

  The main span of the entire Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge is a 1,430-meter-long steel box girder suspension bridge across the river.

The characteristics of the bridge project are large, wide, high, new and large, mainly referring to our large span.

The width mainly refers to the width of our bridge deck. The width of our main beam is 50.5 meters, and the entire expressway with two-way 8 lanes is used.

It is currently the widest steel box girder suspension bridge on the Yangtze River.

  Our bridge is the high-performance concrete used for the bridge deck, which is commonly known as UHPC. This is an emerging ultra-high-performance concrete material in our country.

In the case of a very small thickness, it can meet a high bearing capacity requirement, and secondly, it is wear-resistant, and it can have a longer service life under the same vehicle driving conditions.

  [Explanation] It is reported that the Xingang Expressway Shuangliu Yangtze River Bridge and its connection project, as a key construction project in the Outline of the "14th Five-Year" Development Plan for Comprehensive Transportation in Hubei Province, are an important part of the Wuhan metropolitan area ring line.

After the project is completed, it can further expand the urban development space of Wuhan, greatly promote the flow of people, logistics and industrial resources, which is of great significance to the construction of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River.

The traffic of the entire sixth ring road is of great significance to our entire Wuhan metropolitan ring line, and it is also an important river crossing channel between our Wuhan Xinzhou District and our Ezhou Huarong District.
