The Ras Al Khaimah Energy Summit was launched yesterday, under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, with the participation of a group of experts in the energy sustainability sector from the UAE and the world.

In his opening speech, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi said, “The Ras Al Khaimah Energy Summit is the first of its kind, and it is an important platform for dialogue and the exchange of ambitious ideas on the future of the sustainability of the energy sector and the global approach to dealing with the issue of climate change.

Sustainability, preserving the environment, and contributing positively to the issue of climate change are basic pillars of Ras Al Khaimah’s approach to achieving comprehensive development.”

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Energy and Petroleum Sector, Engineer Sherif Al Olama, said in a speech on behalf of the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, that “the UAE is one of the leading countries in developing the renewable and clean energy sector, and the pioneer in innovation Modern ways and methods to enhance the efficiency of the energy sector, and find alternative solutions to support sustainable development,” he explained, explaining that climate action in the UAE is based on three main axes, namely finance, technology and the environment.
