Recently, the world's first 100-megawatt advanced compressed air energy storage national demonstration project provided by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was successfully connected to the grid for power generation in Zhangjiakou, Hebei.

According to reports, the total scale of the 100-megawatt advanced compressed air energy storage national demonstration project is 100 megawatts/400 megawatt hours, the core equipment autonomy rate is 100%, and it can generate more than 132 million kWh of electricity every year, which can be used at peak electricity consumption for about 5 Ten thousand households provide electricity guarantee, which can save 42,000 tons of standard coal and 109,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.

After the completion of the project, a new model of large-scale energy storage system operation and strategic emerging industry clusters can be formed, which will effectively promote the scale, industrialization, and commercialization of China's compressed air energy storage technology. The achievement of the "two-carbon" (carbon peak, carbon neutral) goal is a milestone.
