The organized restaurant sector has its first collective agreement, which the CCOO and UGT have already signed and which sets a minimum wage of 16,000 euros by 2024 for workers in large chains such as

Burger King, Alsea, Rodilla, Tagliatella, KFC, Tacobell , McDonalds, Pansfood and Goiko.

In total, there are around

50,000 workers

in these modern catering companies.

This is the first sectoral agreement in this sector, which will be in force until December 31, 2025.

According to the CCOO in a statement, it is a "key step to reverse the precariousness of the sector, which encompasses the large chains that are present throughout the country, many of them in airports and train stations. The agreement also includes the

reduction of the annual working day to 1,792 hours

, "the improvement of weekly breaks, as well as advances in the advance planning of the working day".

Regarding hiring, development elements of the Labor Reform are included, guaranteeing and specifying four months of minimum call for discontinuous fixed, and establishing a minimum of 20 hours and consolidation of additional hours in part-time contracts.

According to CCOO,

the agreement includes an explicit reference to the Comprehensive Guarantee of Sexual Freedom Law,

with the obligation of companies to promote working conditions that prevent the commission of crimes and other behaviors against sexual freedom.
