The nationwide average retail price of regular gasoline this week was 169.5 yen per liter, falling for the second consecutive week.

According to the Petroleum Information Center, which is commissioned by the government to investigate gasoline prices, the average retail price of regular gasoline as of the 26th was 169.5 yen per liter nationwide, down 0.2 yen from last week.

It's been 2 consecutive weeks of price drops.

With the price of LNG = liquefied natural gas soaring, the price of crude oil as an alternative fuel also rose, but the retail price of gasoline fell due to the effect of government subsidies.

From the 29th, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will provide a subsidy of 35.7 yen per liter from the amount wholesaled to gas stations in various places.

Regarding the outlook for the future, the Petroleum Information Center said, ``Crude oil prices are falling due to concerns about economic slowdowns in Europe and the United States as monetary tightening continues, and retail gasoline prices are expected to fall.'' .
