Gazprom called the filing of an appeal by Naftogaz with the International Arbitration Court a continuation of the unfair behavior of the Ukrainian company.

The company expressed the opinion that further attempts by Naftogaz to seek a settlement of the dispute may lead to the fact that the Russian authorities will have every reason to impose sanctions on this company.

The Russian company warned that, in practice, this would mean a ban on Gazprom from fulfilling its obligations to sanctioned persons under completed transactions, including financial transactions.

Gazprom also rejected all the demands of the Ukrainian Naftogaz for arbitration on gas transit to Europe.
