Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau, said that "Abu Dhabi aims to attract 23 million visitors by 2030, through the tourism sector, including leisure tourism, meetings, exhibitions, conferences, events and incentives."

He added, in press statements, on the sidelines of the second session of the Abu Dhabi Business Tourism Week, that "Abu Dhabi aims to double the size of the business tourism sector in 2030, and that 2022 is one of the best and strongest years for business tourism in the history of Abu Dhabi."

He explained that "Abu Dhabi will host this year, 11 new events, exhibitions and conferences, to be held for the first time in the emirate, in various sectors, and it is expected that more than 8000 people will attend, in addition to many major conferences and exhibitions hosted by Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi also provides several files to host a number of Major conferences during the coming period, which indicates the success of Abu Dhabi in attracting the largest events related to business tourism, which will reflect positively on the various economic sectors in the emirate,” noting that “business tourism is developing rapidly in the emirate.”

He pointed out that "Abu Dhabi is entering into partnerships with strategic partners to develop and develop the business tourism sector, as well as renewing the Abu Dhabi Opportunities Program, which supports the business tourism sector to keep pace with its various requirements."

He pointed out that "Abu Dhabi managed, in 2019, to attract 13.3 million visitors through leisure tourism, and 1.4 million visitors through business tourism, through the establishment of more than 24,000 business tourism events, including exhibitions, meetings, conferences and events."

He stated that Abu Dhabi was able to host major events during the Corona pandemic, such as the IDEX exhibition, despite the closures that included various countries of the world at the time.

He noted that Abu Dhabi Business Tourism Week is a global platform for sharing opinions and ideas and transferring knowledge of business tourism regionally and globally, with the aim of developing business tourism in the emirate and the region. And international, pointing out that an advisory board was established for the Abu Dhabi Business Tourism Week, which includes major companies and organizations to determine the topics and opinions discussed during the week and the challenges facing the sector and to discuss solutions to these challenges.
