He added that the increase in emissions anywhere around the world leads to negative impacts on all inhabitants of the planet, which confirms the need for concerted international efforts to develop effective solutions and raise the level of coordination to ensure that all countries move forward in the transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Al Tayer pointed out that the World Green Economy Summit, which is organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the World Green Economy Organization and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, has continued, since its establishment eight years ago, to provide a strategic platform for developing effective and proactive plans to confront climate change, enhance international cooperation, and overcome challenges and risks. imposed by climate change.

He stressed that the summit is part of the UAE's participation in supporting the joint efforts of the international community in order to launch sustainable initiatives to facilitate the world's transformation towards a green economy model.

Al Tayer stated that this event represents an essential pillar within the country's preparations to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in November 2023.
