my country has built the world's largest mobile Internet of Things network.

By the end of August 2022, the total number of narrowband IoT, 4G and 5G base stations reached 755,000, 5.937 million and 2.102 million respectively. The network infrastructure pattern of multi-network coordinated development, universal coverage of urban and rural areas, and in-depth coverage of key scenarios has been formed.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of August, my country's three basic telecommunications companies had developed 1.698 billion mobile IoT end users, 20 million more than the 1.678 billion mobile phone users. In terms of the number of telephone users, my country has become the first country in the world's major economies to achieve "superhuman things".

Yu Xiaohui, President of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, pointed out that "Superman of Things" means that the mobile network has further developed from serving people and information consumption to serving thousands of industries, making the vision of "Internet of Everything" a reality, marking that my country is leading the world Development of the Mobile IoT Ecosystem.

my country's mobile Internet of Things has a strong development momentum

The mobile Internet of Things will greatly expand the scope and depth of network connections, and combine with technologies such as perception and edge computing to promote the digitization and intelligence of human, machine and things, and lead a new wave of information and communication industry changes.

Yu Xiaohui said that when the growth of the number of mobile users and the sales scale of mobile phone terminals has encountered bottlenecks, the demographic dividend has gradually disappeared, but the number of mobile Internet of Things connections has maintained a rapid growth trend.

Since the end of 2020, the number of mobile Internet of Things connections has grown by over 500 million. Mobile Internet of Things has developed into a new growth point for mobile communication services, providing new opportunities and paths for the sustainable development of the telecommunications industry.

In recent years, my country has strengthened top-level design at the policy level and built a comprehensive mobile Internet of Things ecosystem, which has performed prominently in the development of the global mobile Internet of Things.

Specifically, in terms of network capabilities, my country has built the world's largest mobile IoT network. As of the end of August 2022, the total number of narrowband IoT, 4G and 5G base stations reached 755,000, 5.937 million and 2.102 million respectively. A network infrastructure pattern with coordinated development of multiple networks, universal coverage of urban and rural areas, and in-depth coverage of key scenarios has been formed; in terms of application development, mobile Internet of Things is deeply integrated into various fields and links of economic and social development; in terms of industrial ecology, domestic enterprises’ technology and product R&D capabilities Continuous enhancement and continuous improvement of the ecosystem.

"my country has always been a major contributor to the technological innovation of the global mobile Internet of Things, and the industry's supply capacity is the world's leading player." Yu Xiaohui said, "The realization of 'things superhuman' means that my country's mobile Internet of Things connection capability has reached a certain level, and the connection scale has reached a A new level. The development momentum of the information and communication industry has shifted from the 'demographic dividend' to the 'Internet of Things dividend', and the value of the mobile Internet of Things will continue to be highlighted, becoming an important engine to promote the digital transformation of the economy and society."

Mobile Internet of Things changes production and lifestyle

Remote meter reading, smart home, industrial interconnection, smart agriculture, shared equipment... In recent years, more and more innovative applications based on mobile Internet of Things have changed our production and lifestyle.

Relevant experts from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology believe that my country's mobile Internet of Things can be roughly divided into three directions: industrial digitization, governance intelligence, and life intelligence.

In the direction of industrial digitization, the mobile Internet of Things boosts the industrial transformation and upgrading of smart factories, smart agriculture, smart logistics, and smart transportation. Landed in each field, improving dynamic perception, risk warning, and scientific decision-making capabilities; in the direction of smart life, mobile Internet of Things has brought more convenient services such as online consultation, elderly and young care, and smart travel.

In addition, the development of the mobile Internet of Things provides stronger connection capabilities and larger connection scale for industrial digitalization and digital governance, and opens up a larger space for data value, which will accelerate the efficient perception, transmission and processing of data, and accelerate the formation of a comprehensive The closed-loop pattern of "connection", "number", and "calculation".

As Wu Hequan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said, the Internet of Things has been used in our lives.

The widely used 5G technology has expanded the application scope of the Internet of Things, making the landing scenarios of the Internet of Things more diverse.

With the accelerated digital transformation of the economy and society, all walks of life have vigorously embraced the new generation of information and communication technologies represented by the mobile Internet of Things.

At present, NB-IoT has formed 4 million-level applications of water meters, gas meters, smoke detectors, and tracking, and 7 million-level applications such as white goods, street lights, parking, and agriculture.

The mobile Internet of Things is a digital information infrastructure. "Superman" not only means that the "explosion point" of the scale development of the mobile Internet of Things has arrived, but also injects strong new momentum into the vigorous development of my country's digital economy.
