Banco Santander

has hired a well-known law firm to investigate the alleged visit of a group of bankers to a

strip

club after a day of company meetings, to which some young employees would have attended under pressure.

The incident would have occurred in February, after the meeting of Banco Santander's global debt capital markets team in the United Kingdom, reports the

Financial Times

.

According to information obtained by the economic newspaper, seven male members of the team, including three senior managers and four employees, attended the Nags

Head Gentlemens Club

in

Aldgate

, in the City of

London

, "one of the oldest lap dance establishments" of the British capital.

Less experienced employees would have felt pressured to come to the club.

"It's an open secret,"

a Banco Santander staff member told the newspaper.

"Everybody [across the bank] knows about it, but nothing is officially said."

None of those involved in the incident have been fired, although the manager who organized the visit has been sanctioned.

"We take all concerns about employee conduct very seriously and follow a rigorous process to ensure the facts are established and appropriate action is taken as necessary,"

Banco Santander

said in a statement .
