Al-Zarouni added in a press statement yesterday, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the International Organization for Standardization, which is hosted by Abu Dhabi for five days, that these specifications serve as a passport for the Emirati product to various countries, especially since the vast majority of the UAE national standards are compatible with the applicable international standards. This means that the UAE product has the right to enter various international markets.

Al-Zarouni stated that the ministry is about to issue more specifications during the coming period, especially the specifications of hydrogen and self-driving vehicles and specifications for heavy industries, explaining that the ministry issued the first standard for recently developed foods, and it includes foods that have been developed with new manufacturing methods and methods or as a result of innovative mixtures or formulations. or produced from fresh edible sources.

She added that food suppliers are required to submit an assessment to the Ministry with regard to risk analysis and health and safety considerations, including conducting the necessary laboratory tests before being traded and marketed within the country.

In turn, the head of the Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization, Saud bin Nasser Al-Khusaibi, said that 26,000 unified Gulf standards have been issued, bringing together all the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in various fields.

He explained that these specifications facilitate trade exchange between the countries of the Cooperation Council and the flow of goods and services between its countries.

He added that the large number of participants in the meeting of the International Organization for Standardization in Abu Dhabi is evidence of the UAE's application of best practices in the field of standardization and specifications.
