Qiongyue submarine "hand in hand", "cloud electricity into Qiong" lights up thousands of lights
Reporter Zuo Yukun
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, a bonfire in the Stone Age lit up eyes in the dark; now, a power grid project in the new era has lit up thousands of homes in Qiongya.
The world is bright and dark, all things are chapters and chapters, human beings have never stopped chasing light, even across the strait, some people will welcome the light.
"The island needs light"
In 1914, the first electric lamp in Hainan was lit on the small island of Haidian River in Haikou.
This island, beaten by the waves day and night, saw its appearance in the dark.
In a short period of time, "there must be light" has changed from a dream to a reality, which embodies the unremitting struggle of Nanwang people.
On June 30, 2009, the first round of the 500 kV Hainan interconnection project was successfully put into operation.
Qiongdao, which once faced the mainland power grid across the Qiongzhou Strait, began to bid farewell to the "loneliness" of electricity.
What was the Hainan Power Grid in the past?
Under the separation of the Qiongzhou Strait, since the power supply in 1914, the Hainan power grid has been an isolated island power grid. The power grid structure is weak, and the problem of "big machine and small grid" is prominent, which affects the safety and reliability of power supply. affect.
"I was busy writing materials, and I didn't have time to save it. A sudden power outage resulted in data loss. Half a day's work was for nothing, and I was so angry that my nose was smoking." He once participated in the construction of the Hainan interconnection project and is now the planning and finance company of China Southern Power Grid Corporation. Fu Yongfeng, deputy general manager of the department (operation monitoring center), recalled.
"The weather in Hainan is hot in summer, and the demand for electricity is relatively large. The air conditioners in our catering stores basically work 24 hours a day, but there have been power outages from time to time. Basically, there are not many customers entering the store on this day, and the income is much lower. " said Ms. Li, who works in the catering industry in Haikou.
In addition to the unsatisfactory electricity demand of the residents on the island, it is also difficult for the electricity supply to keep up with the development of Shanghai and Hainan.
The load growth rate of Hainan's power grid has accelerated, but the hydropower resources that can be developed in the province are limited, and there are many uncertain factors in power supply construction, resulting in the power grid facing the problem of power shortage.
In September 2005, Typhoon "Davey" caused heavy damage to the power facilities in Hainan.
"At that time, the typhoon was too strong, and there was a large-scale power outage in Hainan. The construction of the project was suspended for a long time, and finally the construction period was delayed." said Manager Wang of a construction company in Haikou.
"Find a way to cross the sea to connect with the main network!" A bold dream sprouted in the hearts of Hainan Electric Power people.

"Dinghaishenzhen" is here
Looking back at the initial stage of the construction of the Hainan interconnection project, the domestic experience in submarine cable engineering is almost blank.
The complex sea conditions in the Qiongzhou Strait, the lack of experience in offshore operations, the unfamiliarity with the workflow and procedures related to ocean management, the scarcity of cable professionals... All these are challenges and tests.
In the networking project, the laying of submarine cables is a key part.
Unlike ordinary cables, submarine cables require that a single cable be completely laid into the seabed at one time without interruption, pause or error, which is quite difficult.
During the construction process, 24-hour on-site monitoring and vigilance of the accompanying vigilante ships are required to effectively ensure the safety of the construction ships and the construction operations are not disturbed by foreign ships, so as to ensure the safe construction of submarine cables.
According to the construction requirements, no debris is allowed in the 300-meter sea area around the submarine cable route. How to deal with the fishing gear that sinks below 100 meters?
The construction personnel noticed an inconspicuous D-shaped knife on the fishing boat. With the help of the fishermen, they used the principle of this simple tool to easily cut off the fishing ropes. They could cut 10 fishing ropes at the fastest a day. Only 2 roots can be cut, and the "soil method" greatly improves the construction efficiency.
The submarine cable looks like a "big guy", but it is actually very "fragile".
When the submarine cable was transferred from the temporary pumping station to the terminal station, the large-scale mechanical handling plan proposed by the foreign construction party cost millions of yuan and took one month.
However, the construction period did not wait for anyone. The engineering project department recruited more than 100 villagers. After many drills, they successfully carried the submarine cable with the tactic of carrying the cables on their shoulders.
It is understood that for more than 10 years after the first project of Hainan interconnection project was put into operation, whether it is to resist typhoon attacks or undertake major events to ensure power supply, there has never been a large-scale power outage in Hainan Province, so this project is also known as Hainan power supply. The "Dinghaishenzhen".
The first and second projects of the 500 kV Hainan interconnection have been completed and put into operation one after another.

"Cloud electricity can also enter Qiong"
In 2018, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to support the construction of a free trade pilot zone in the whole island of Hainan, and support Hainan in gradually exploring and steadily advancing the construction of a free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
Hainan Island has opened a new chapter and ushered in a new mission.
With the rapid economic and social development of Hainan, the original single-circuit network can no longer meet the needs of the power supply and power grid system in Hainan Province.
The other end of the Qiongzhou Strait calls for more power sources, and the blueprint has already been drawn.
In October 2015, the land project of the Hainan Networking Second Circuit broke ground in Chenghai County, Hainan Province.
"During the entire construction process of the second network connection, the most difficult part is the submarine cable laying stage." Guo Qiang, manager of the submarine cable operation and maintenance department of the Guangzhou Bureau Haikou Branch of China Southern Power Grid Ultra-high Voltage Transmission Company, introduced that due to the complex sea conditions in the Qiongzhou Strait, the wind and waves are high. , the average water depth is 44 meters, and the deepest reaches 110 meters. It is very difficult to safely lay cables without connectors to the seabed at one time.
"The submarine cable laying part of the deep-sea operation can accurately lay the submarine cable to the designated routing position through the dynamic positioning of the vessel, equipped with fully automated construction equipment such as underwater remote control robots and automatic positioning. About 1 kilometer from the shore, the submarine cable tied to the floating body will be 'spit' out from the stern."
After nearly 4 years of hard construction, Qiongyue once again "held hands" under the sea.
On May 30, 2019, the second round of Hainan interconnection project was completed and put into operation.
Since then, Hainan has realized the interconnection of power double-circuit lines through Qiongyue Subsea.
The commissioning of the second round of networking has added 600,000 kilowatts of power to Hainan. With the first round of networking, the power transmission scale of the two major power channels has reached 1.2 million kilowatts, which is equivalent to the largest electricity load in Hainan in 2018. a quarter of .
"The second round of Hainan interconnection has greatly improved the power transmission capacity of the system, effectively reducing the probability of large-scale power outages in Hainan Island where typhoons are prone to occur, and at the same time ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power grid during the output of large units such as nuclear power on the island, and the power grid structure and power quality have been further improved. Optimization." said Deng Jie, head of Fushan Substation, Guangzhou Bureau Haikou Branch of China Southern Power Grid Ultra-high Voltage Transmission Company.
The second round of Hainan Interconnection Project has further enhanced the sense of power acquisition of Hainan residents.
Ms. Li said, "There are basically no sudden trips or power outages now, so our small businesses will not be affected by power supply problems."
According to the introduction of China Southern Power Grid, in addition to the substantial increase in the safety factor of the power grid, the Hainan interconnection project can also effectively adjust the surplus and shortage of power in Hainan, creating conditions for the main network of China Southern Power Grid to import clean energy into Hainan.
"Cloud Power into Qiong" has effectively improved Hainan's energy structure, helped the construction of Hainan's clean energy island, and contributed to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
The world is ups and downs, and the light goes on without fear.
The stable power supply in Hainan lights up the lights of thousands of homes, and also lights up the Chinese coordinates of the island.
