His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, chaired the seventh meeting of the General Budget Committee of the Union, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Muhammad bin Hadi Al Husseini, and Governor of the Central Bank, Khalid Muhammad Salem Balama Al Tamimi, in addition to representatives from the Ministry of Finance.
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in a tweet on Twitter, said yesterday: "I chaired, in the presence of my brother Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, and my brother Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the meeting of the General Budget Committee of the Union, and we discussed the draft budget for next year, and cash flows." For the Federal Government for the years 2022-2023.
His Highness added: "Our financial plans reflect the vision of the UAE government, which has made the human being the focus of its business and sustainable development."
During the meeting, the committee discussed a number of topics, the most important of which are the cash flows of the federal government for the fiscal years 2022-2023 in light of the actual expenditures and revenues collected during the current fiscal year, and forecasts for future revenues.
The committee also discussed the draft general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2023, in light of the developments and measures taken by the Ministry of Finance to update the draft general budget of the Federation, in accordance with the provisions of Federal Decree-Law No. 26 of 2019 regarding public finance.
The committee directed the Ministry of Finance to complete the necessary procedures to submit the draft general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2023 to the Council of Ministers for approval. It also reviewed the requests of the federal authorities regarding the supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2022, and directed what is necessary in this regard.
The committee commended the efforts of the Ministry of Finance in the procedures it took to prepare the draft general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2023, in coordination with the federal authorities in this regard.
