Recruitment in the life service industry is booming

  Recently, at the Life Service Industry Development Conference held during the Service Trade Fair, the China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA) and the 58 City Recruitment Research Institute jointly released the "China Life Service Industry Employment Index Report (2022)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"). ), from the perspectives of regions, positions, typical fields and other perspectives, a three-dimensional sorting out of the employment situation in the domestic life service industry in 2021, to provide a reference for recruitment and the job market.

  The "Report" shows that the employment prosperity of the life service industry continues to rise, and the employment index in 2021 will show an upward trend. The employment index in the second quarter of 2021 will reach 9.4, the largest in the past three years, and the recruitment gap is obvious; the overall employment prosperity has increased, and the life service industry Recruitment is in high demand.

  From the perspective of recruitment demand, the logistics and express service sector is highly active in recruitment, driving up the demand for employment; from the perspective of job-seeking demand, jobs such as loading and unloading, porters are the most in short supply; in terms of regions, the eastern region is more active, and the population effect is obvious.

  Online economy brings surge in hiring demand

  The "Report" shows that compared with 2020, the proportion of logistics and express services, accommodation and catering services is still the top two in the life service industry recruitment and job-seeking needs in 2021, and resident travel services surpass residents' retail and Internet sales services to rank third.

  The relevant person in charge of the China Chain Store & Franchise Association pointed out that under the influence of the multi-point spread of the epidemic across the country, the residential retail and Internet sales service fields are affected by the offline part, and the growth rate of total talent supply and demand has slowed down, but the online economy has brought logistics and express delivery. Demand for recruitment in the service sector has surged.

  From the perspective of various sub-sectors of the life service industry, the supply and demand of the five major service areas of logistics and express, resident travel, residents and families, resident retail and Internet sales, accommodation and catering are booming, and the urgency of labor shortage is relatively high; An important link in the development of China's society and people's livelihood, although the industry's development speed and scale growth are in a slow start stage due to the impact of the epidemic, the market potential is huge.

  Further selection of 15 typical positions in the life service industry and observation found that in 2021, the employment index of loader/porter, logistics specialist/assistant, courier, sorter and other positions will be the largest, and the employment will be the most in short supply, ranking in the top four.

Taxi drivers, real estate brokers, babysitters, special car drivers and other jobs related to residents' clothing, food, housing and transportation have increased rapidly, and there are certain job-seeking thresholds, so the employment index is relatively high.

However, due to the high turnover of personnel, the employment index of food delivery staff and promotion/shopping guide positions is high, and there is a long-term employment gap.

  In 2021, the employment index of accommodation and catering services will be lower than the blue-collar employment index of life services.

Among the key positions, the demand for recruitment of restaurant waiters and food delivery staff is increasing day by day.

However, due to the rise of new occupations such as couriers and online car-hailing drivers in recent years, a considerable number of job seekers have left the field of accommodation and catering services, which has further exacerbated the lack of work.

Among them, waiter positions are getting younger and younger, with nearly 90% of young job seekers under the age of 35, and the proportion has increased by about 7 percentage points compared with 2020.

  Beijing has become the "Holy Land of Employment" in the hearts of job seekers

  From the perspective of overall geographical characteristics, provinces with strong demand for recruitment and job hunting in the life service industry in 2021 will generally be provinces with large economies or populations, and the eastern provinces will be more active.

Guangdong Province continued the trend of 2020, ranking first in supply and demand, with an obvious dominant position; compared with 2020, the recruitment demand in Shandong Province jumped three places to the fourth in the country, and the job search demand increased two places to the second in the country.

  From the perspective of recruitment demand, the top 10 cities with active recruitment in the national life service industry are Chengdu, Chongqing, Dongguan, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wenzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan and Langfang.

In recent years, the Shuangcheng Economic Circle in Chengdu-Chongqing region has continuously stimulated the recruitment demand of the life service industry with its highly concentrated commercial resources, superior business environment and good consumption atmosphere.

  In terms of cities preferred by job seekers, in 2021, the top 10 cities in the country with active job hunting in the life service industry are Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Shanghai, Changsha, Hangzhou, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou.

Compared with 2020, Beijing has risen one place and jumped to the first place.

  Compared with the whole country, Beijing, as an economic cluster of headquarters, has the characteristics of diverse positions, large demand and competitive salary, making it a "holy place for employment" in the hearts of job seekers.
