At 10:18 on September 5, the key project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area - the main span of the Zhuji Intercity Jinhai Bridge was successfully closed.

Jinhai Bridge is the world's first multi-tower cable-stayed bridge on the same floor for road and rail. At the same time, with a bridge deck width of 49.6 meters, it has created the current world record for the width of a multi-tower cable-stayed bridge for both road and rail.

  The Zhuhai Intercity Jinhai Bridge is 1,369 meters long. It starts from Hengqin New District in Zhuhai, crosses the Modaomen waterway of Xijiang River, and ends at Zhuhai Airport East Road. It is a key control project of the second phase of the Zhuhai Intercity Railway.

For the first time, the bridge adopts a multi-tower rigid-frame system road-rail dual-purpose cable-stayed bridge structure. The main span is a 3×340-meter road-rail same-story four-tower cable-stayed bridge. A two-way six-lane highway at 100 km/h.

  It is reported that the steel structure of Jinhai Super Bridge consists of 4 steel main towers, 8 large-section steel girders, 39 standard steel box girders (including 3 combined dragon blocks), a total of 52,000 tons of steel girders and steel towers.

Among them, 4 steel main towers and 8 large-section steel girders were erected by the 3,600-ton crane ship "Diaoqiao Seagull", the double-boom crane with the largest lifting capacity and the highest lifting height in China, which was independently designed and built by China Railway Bridge Bureau.

  The Jinhai Bridge started construction in April 2018. Since the construction of the project, the project construction team has given full play to face the difficulties and successfully completed the goals and tasks of each node.

At present, the bridge has fully entered the construction stage of the bridge deck system, ensuring that it will enter the track laying project in October this year and meet the conditions for opening to traffic next year.

By then, it will only take 10-15 minutes from Zhuhai Jinwan to Hengqin, and 25 minutes from Zhuhai Airport to Gongbei, which will greatly shorten the traffic time between the main urban area of ​​Zhuhai and the western urban area.

  The intercity rail transit project from Zhuhai urban area to Zhuhai Airport is an important part of the rail transit network in the Pearl River Delta, and it is also an important passenger passage connecting the Mainland and the Pearl River Delta with Hong Kong and Macau.
