Earlier, the Japanese Mitsui & Co announced that it had received confirmation from the Russian side regarding its application for participation in the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project.
The Japanese authorities also said that they are not considering the possibility of refusing to cooperate with Russia in the framework of the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project due to concerns about the situation with supplies for the winter.
