“I am personally ready to go to Moscow to negotiate gas supplies to Moldova on terms that will not destroy our independence, humiliate the citizens of our country and cripple our economy,” Shor said.

He stressed the need to turn to the Russian side to obtain mutually beneficial conditions for gas supplies.

“I want to appeal directly to the government of the Russian Federation and the leadership of Gazprom with a request to warm our homes,” Shor said.

Earlier, Gazprom allowed Moldovagaz to defer until September 1 the advance payment for gas supplies in August.

Moldovagaz will ask the Moldovan government to take emergency measures to pay Gazprom for current gas consumption after a delay in payment in August.
