China News Service, Beijing, August 23 (Reporter Chen Su) Yuan Bin, a senior engineer at the Public Meteorological Service Center of the China Meteorological Administration, said on the 23rd that the power load meteorological condition index in Sichuan, Jiangsu and Hubei provinces for nearly 60 days was significantly higher than the same period in history. In the later stage, it is necessary to make emergency preparations for power dispatching and power supply.

On the same day, the China Meteorological Administration held an online briefing meeting to provide weather service forecasts for the high temperature in the south.

Yuan Bin said that from July 22 to August 22, a total of 5 forest fires occurred in Chongqing. On August 22, relevant Chinese authorities issued a red warning for high forest fire danger.

It is expected that from August 23 to 25, the high temperature in central and southern Chongqing and eastern Sichuan will continue, and the forest fire danger level in some areas will reach the extremely dangerous level.

In terms of energy, Yuan Bin said that the power load meteorological condition index in Sichuan, Jiangsu and Hubei provinces for nearly 60 days was significantly higher than the same period in history.

From the 24th, the large-scale high temperature in the south will gradually ease, and the power load meteorological index of the provinces along the Yangtze River will also drop to the same level or slightly higher than the same period of the previous year, and the current situation of electricity shortage will be slightly eased.

At the same time, the reduction of high temperature is also conducive to the power generation of photovoltaic power plants. It is estimated that from the 24th to the 25th, the theoretical hours of photovoltaic power generation in most of the south can reach more than 5 hours, which is conducive to the dispatch and supplement of new energy power generation to the power load.

"However, due to the shortage of water in the entire Yangtze River Basin, the daily hydropower output has dropped significantly, and the power supply support capacity has dropped sharply. Therefore, the problem of power shortage in various provinces is still serious, and emergency preparations for power dispatching and power supply still need to be done." Yuan Bin said.
