  According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, in November 2021, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao formally applied to New Zealand, the depositary of DEPA, on behalf of China.

Since then, DEPA member countries have decided to agree to the establishment of China's participation in the working group after careful evaluation.

The establishment of the joining working group means that my country will fully advance the negotiation of joining DEPA.

  The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce said that China is the second largest digital economy in the world. It is accelerating its digital development, building a digital China, and steadily expanding institutional openings such as rules, regulations, management, and standards.
