China News Service, August 19th. The "National Development and Reform Commission" public account published an article on the 19th to interpret the problem of excessive packaging of boxed mooncakes.

Previously, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Administration for Market Regulation issued the "Announcement on Curbing "Sky-High" Mooncakes and Promoting the Healthy Development of the Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Announcement"), emphasizing that online merchants sell boxed Mooncakes should abide by the same regulatory requirements as offline merchants.

The article pointed out that with the development of the Internet economy, the number of mooncakes sold through online channels such as e-commerce platforms has increased year by year, accounting for more than 30%.

For example, some are priced at 299 yuan per box, but the remark is "make two boxes and send one box", and the actual price per box is 598 yuan; some are priced at 499 yuan, and ask to make up the difference of 200 yuan; some are not only priced at 499 yuan, but also A high express delivery fee of 600 yuan is set up; some provide various types of luxury packaging according to customer needs, combine moon cakes with designated high-priced commodities, and issue invoices in the name of moon cakes, which facilitates customization of "sky-high" moon cakes.

The "Announcement" makes targeted regulations on online merchants' sales behavior: it is not allowed to falsely bid the price of goods or increase the price in a disguised form by splitting orders, falsely increasing the quantity of goods, etc.; National mandatory standards, etc.

Relevant departments regard online sales as a key supervision area, strengthen supervision, and strictly investigate and deal with according to laws and regulations, and typical cases will be exposed.

The "Announcement" also requires e-commerce platforms to implement the main responsibility for the supervision of online merchants, focusing on supervising online merchants selling boxed mooncakes with a unit price of more than 500 yuan and providing customized services, prohibiting violations of food safety, restricting excessive packaging and other mandatory standards. of merchants are engaged in mooncake sales activities on the platform.
