Fresenius manager Michael Sen will become CEO of the Fresenius healthcare group on October 1.

The supervisory board unanimously appointed him, the Bad Homburg-based company announced on Friday.

Sen succeeds Stephan Sturm, who is leaving the group "on good terms".

Sen will also continue to act as CEO of the infusion division Fresenius Kabi until his successor there is settled, it said in a statement.

Sen has been on the Fresenius Management Board since April 2021 and is responsible for the Kabi division.

59-year-old Sturm has been a member of the Fresenius Management Board since the beginning of 2005 and has been CEO since July 2016.

Fresenius had to lower its annual targets because of problems at its dialysis subsidiary FMC.
