's friendly economy time.

Reporter Han Ji-yeon is here.

Is there an analysis that grain import prices will rise further in the second half of the year?

<Reporter>

According to the Korea Rural Economic Research Institute, the price of imported grains in the third quarter is expected to rise 16% more than in the second quarter.

It is predicted that the fourth quarter will be slightly lower than the third quarter, but higher than the second quarter.

However, those of you who have read the news may wonder why the import price is rising when the world grain price fell more than 11% in July.

Therefore, it will take 3 to 6 months for the international grain price to fall in July to be reflected in the domestic import price, and the reflection will begin slowly in the fourth quarter.

But the peak of international grain prices was from March to June.

The import price will rise because the quantity purchased at this time will be imported into Korea from the third quarter of this year.

I'm worried that if grain prices rise, food prices and restaurant prices will have to jump more for the time being.

Is there really a possibility that the prices of food products like ramen will rise further?

<Anchor>

If the material price goes up, of course the manufacturing cost goes up.

In particular, the proportion of raw material costs in manufacturing costs in the food industry exceeds 50%, reaching up to 80%.

The rise in grain import prices in 3Q will inevitably act as a burden.

In the meantime, whenever the price of raw materials continues to rise, we have to keep an eye on consumers, so we can't just keep raising the price.

Therefore, there are many companies whose operating profit has decreased, and I am worried that the price will be raised again in the third quarter, centering on these companies.

In particular, in the case of ramen, there is a lot of resistance to price hikes as it is a food for the common people. In the case of Nongshim, sales in the second quarter increased by more than 16% compared to the same period last year, but operating profit decreased by more than 75%.

It can be seen that the cost of raw materials is the result of the company taking over.

Looking at domestic performance alone, it turned to a loss for the first time in 24 years since the second quarter of 1998, so there is a forecast that Nongshim, which raised the price of ramen by 6.8% in August last year, will raise it again in the second half of this year.

Are you already selling sardines at the mart?

<Reporter>

As there are sayings such as spring flounder, autumn mackerel, 'Autumn mackerel has sesame on the head', it means that autumn mackerel is delicious.

But in the middle of summer, sardines are pouring out.

The reason is global warming, as the water temperature has risen sharply and the fishery has been shaped faster than usual.

As a result, the price of warm-flowing fish such as mackerel has dropped significantly as the catch increased.

In some regions, operations were abandoned due to the burden of fuel and labor costs, so a large mart collaborated with the government to promote aquatic products.

For reference, summer mackerel has soft bones and soft flesh, so it is good for sashimi and grilling.

Did you say that the results of a survey on what kind of damage is related to cataract surgery?

<Reporter>

After cataract surgery, there are many side effects such as decreased vision, but there were many cases where they did not receive sufficient explanation before the operation.

According to the data from the Korea Consumer Agency, among the number of damages over the past three years, the most common complaint was 43% of cases of visual loss after surgery, followed by blindness and glare at 24%, and infection inside the eyeball at 20%.

In particular, about 60% of the victims did not fully understand the complications or cost of surgery before and after the operation, and more than 25% of the victims suffered damage due to the doctor's violation of the duty of care.

Also, among the intraocular lenses used in cataract surgery, multifocal lenses that are not covered by insurance cost 3 million won to 12 million won, so you need to check them carefully.

In addition, you must ask for an accurate explanation of your eye condition and side effects before undergoing surgery.
