China State Administration for Market Regulation: National market entities exceeded 160 million in the first half of the year

Among them, there were 50.389 million enterprises, an increase of 4.1%, and 107.941 million individual industrial and commercial households, an increase of 4.6%.
In terms of time period, the development of market entities in the first half of the year showed a "V"-shaped trend.
In the first quarter, the growth of new market entities nationwide increased by 7.5%. In April, the growth rate fell due to unexpected factors. Under the action of a package of policy measures to stabilize the economic market, the growth rate recovered to 1.4% in May. With the stable control of the epidemic and the market The initial recovery of confidence, the growth rate in June quickly rebounded to 19.7%.
In terms of classification, from January to June, 14.54 million new market entities were established nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%.
Among them, 4.259 million new enterprises were established, a decrease of 3.6%; 10.214 million new individual industrial and commercial households were established, an increase of 8.0%.
From a structural point of view, in the first half of the year, the market entities of the new economy and new formats grew rapidly, and the growth rate was significantly higher than the overall level.
From January to June, 2.297 million enterprises were newly established in the “Four New Economy” (new technologies, new industries, new formats, and new models), accounting for 54.2% of the total number of newly established enterprises. Among them, modern agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, new energy The growth rate of enterprises exceeded 30%.
As of the end of June, there were 23.398 million registered "Four New Economy" enterprises nationwide, accounting for 46.4% of the total number of enterprises, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the end of 2021.
The growth rate of digital core industry enterprises is eye-catching. In the first half of the year, 604,000 new enterprises were established, a year-on-year increase of 20.0%. By the end of June, the number of registered digital core industry enterprises nationwide reached 5.095 million, accounting for 10.1% of all enterprises.
The accelerated development of market entities in the new economy and new formats has provided new momentum for promoting high-quality development.
