The 10th of next month is Chuseok.
Today is the 16th, so there is less than a month left.
Prices have already risen a lot, but as it rains recently, many people are worried about how much it will cost to prepare for the holidays.
Reporter Jung Jun-ho went to the mart and checked it out in advance.
<Reporter> This
is a large supermarket in Seoul.
I bought the items that will be on the Chuseok table.
About 20,000 won for 260g of beef for soup, 3,800 won for one cabbage, 2,480 won for one radish.
We started by choosing the essentials, but the cost is not high.
I didn't even buy fruits or Korean sweets for my table, but it came out over 180,000 won.
Comparing the prices of items that are frequently sought during Chuseok compared to last year, vegetables in particular have risen a lot.
Chinese cabbage soared by 76% in a single batch, and green onions by 25%.
Pancake flour and flour used for pan-frying rose 26% and 43%, respectively, and Hwangtaepo rose 16%.
The soon-to-be-harvested apples and pears are expected to rise by about 10-20%.
However, as the quantity of Korean beef used in bulk fell by 16% from last year, the total cost of setting up the table was expected to cost about 14,000 won more this year from 249,000 won last year.
In addition, the cost of vegetables and fruits is likely to rise further due to the recent torrential rain, which is expected to further increase the cost.
[Yoo Jeong-hee/Gangseo-gu, Seoul: I think the vegetables rose the most.
So last year I ate a lot, but this year I think I can only do half of it.]
The government said it would try to stabilize Chuseok prices with a 65 billion won discount coupon for livestock and fishery products.
However, it seems difficult to feel the effect of the cut as the shopping cart price increase is large.
