“Abu Dhabi Quality” issues 3,981 measurement certificates to support the industry

Until the end of the first half of this year, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council issued 3,981 measurement and calibration certificates, and completed 422 inter-comparison reports for locally made products to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of calibration services provided by laboratories operating at the national and regional levels, with the aim of improving and developing the production capacity of local industries. Saeed Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Emirates Metrology Institute, affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, said in a press statement, on the sidelines of a visit by media representatives to the institute, that the institute will achieve savings of more than six billion dirhams by 2025, which are savings resulting from the quality of measurement and the reduction of cost and time. and facilitating the acceptance of Emirati products abroad,” noting that savings are expected to exceed this amount, after the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology launched the “300 billion project,” which aims to develop and stimulate the industrial sector in the UAE, and raise the industrial sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product. From 133 billion dirhams to 300 billion dirhams by 2031, which will result in new industries.

Al Muhairi indicated that a joint committee was established with the Ministry of Industry to support the national industry and expand the measurement and calibration operations of various industries, in order to support and develop the national industry and support its competitiveness.

He stressed that the institute cooperates with various sectors in the country to support the national industry in various sectors, most notably the sectors of industry, aerospace, aviation, communications, oil, gas and energy, as well as health, the judiciary and others.

He stressed that the institute focuses on qualifying Emirati cadres to work in the field of metrology, which is the science of metrology, as Emiratis are currently heading all metrology laboratories at the institute, and a program is currently being implemented to support administrative and leadership capabilities to develop national cadres and increase their work in this field.

Al Muhairi revealed that the Saudization rate at the institute is currently 83%, and that it is expected, according to the institute's plan, that the Emiratisation rate will reach 100% during the next three years.
