New York stocks rose on news that inflationary pressures are easing.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished 1.27% higher at 33,761.05.

The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 1.73% from the previous day, and the Nasdaq, which focuses on tech stocks, jumped 2.09% to close at 13,047.19.

The risk appetite has been revived as signs that inflation is easing are detected everywhere.

While both the consumer price index and producer price index growth rates slowed in July due to the fall in energy prices, import prices in July also turned to a downward trend for the first time since December last year.

The U.S. Department of Labor reported that the import price index fell 1.4% in July from a month earlier.
