After visiting the trade fair booth, Governor Mimura attended a ceremony to sign a memorandum of understanding on economic exchange with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

At the outset, Governor Mimura said, "We would like to use the signing of the memorandum as an opportunity to strengthen business cooperation and build closer ties between the two sides, thereby promoting initiatives aimed at starting and expanding trade among companies in the prefecture."

He signed a memorandum of understanding with Ms. Margaret Fong, Director General of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and agreed to work together to promote local products in Hong Kong.

After that, Governor Mimura explained the climate of Aomori Prefecture and the "Aomori Nebuta Festival" using slides, and at the venue, prefectural officials performed a jumping dance around the Nebuta.

On the other hand, when asked about the reason for visiting Hong Kong while the prefecture was suffering from heavy rains, he said, "It is true that I checked the situation before departure and was hesitant. I made a decision on my own from a long-term perspective in order to achieve reconstruction."
