After peaking seven weeks ago, prices at the pump are slowly but surely falling in France every week.

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Friday August 5, the price of diesel was on average 1.83 euros per litre, a drop of 3.9 cents compared to the previous week.

Regarding the price of the Super SP 95-E10, the drop is less obvious, since it posted this same Friday 1.79 euros per liter, or 1.4 cents per month than seven days earlier.

For the past two weeks, however, the price of gasoline has finally fallen back below the level of early May.

Diesel meanwhile, has almost regained its level of late May when it posted an average of 1.82 euros per liter.

The government, which had decided from April 1 on a discount of 15 euro cents excluding tax per liter at petrol stations, has decided to continue this exceptional aid until August 31, 2022.
