Japanese stock indices rose in the morning trading session on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday.
The Nikkei index, which consists of 225 shares, increased 65.22 points, or 0.23 percent, to reach 28241 09 points in the morning session at 1130 am local time (0230 GMT).
The broader Topix index also added 0.99 points, or 0.05 percent, to reach 1948.16 points.
