According to a survey, the majority of start-ups in Germany are satisfied.

42 percent are of the opinion that the situation for young companies has improved in the past two years.

This is the result of a survey of 148 tech start-ups published by the Bitkom industry association on Monday.

Around 40 percent of those surveyed stated that hardly anything had changed in that time.

12 percent complain about deterioration.

"Anyone founding a start-up generally looks at the world with optimism," said Bitkom President Achim Berg.

According to the survey, the biggest obstacles are bureaucracy and general skepticism about innovations.

To remedy the situation, Berg campaigned for start-ups to be given more consideration when awarding public contracts.

According to the survey, around half of the start-ups are concerned about the difficult financing situation.

According to an earlier survey, eight out of ten start-ups will need fresh capital in the next two years and only 15 percent have already secured their financing.

Around the world, valuations of privately funded technology stocks have also plummeted as a result of high inflation and the economic downturn.
