According to data released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, in July 2022, the China Express Logistics Index was 100.5%, down 1.4 percentage points from the previous month.

Affected by seasonal factors this month, coupled with the superposition of short-term factors such as the spread of the epidemic, the production and operation of enterprises have slowed down, and the industrial activity has dropped significantly, but the short-term influencing factors are generally controllable.

In terms of sub-indices, the demand-side business volume index has both declined, of which the business express mail index and the rural express mail index have dropped by 1.3 and 4.6 percentage points from the previous month, falling below 100%; the cross-border express mail index is 100.5%, compared with the previous month. It fell by 0.9 percentage points from the previous month; the employment index and convenience index remained stable on the whole.

In July, the manufacturing business express index was 100.2%, a decrease of 2 percentage points from the previous month, and 11 of the 21 categories of manufacturing were higher than 100%.

In terms of different industries, as the production and operation of manufacturing enterprises contracted, the activity of the bulk raw material commodity industry declined.

The business express index of ferrous metal smelting and processing industry and non-ferrous metal smelting and processing industry was 96.2% and 96.5%, down 0.7 and 1.7 percentage points from the previous month.

In July, the business express index of the service industry was 97.5%, a decrease of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month, and 6 of the 14 categories of the service industry were higher than 100%.

In terms of different industries, the real estate industry and construction service industry continued to be active in the first half of the year, and the related business express mail indexes rebounded by 1.4 and 0.2 percentage points respectively, reaching 105.9% and 103.6%.

In July, the convenience index was 54.6%, up 1.6 percentage points from the previous month.

In terms of sub-items, the ease of access index was 56.2%, an increase of 2.6 percentage points from the previous month; the convenience index of government services was 52.4%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the previous month; the convenience index of public facilities was 55.9%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the previous month. It rebounded by 0.2 percentage points; the delivery convenience index was 54%, up 3.1 percentage points from the previous month.

On the whole, this month, under the influence of seasonal factors such as traditional production off-season, high temperature and rainy season, and the superposition of short-term factors such as the spread of the epidemic, the growth trend of economic operation has been adjusted, the production and operation of enterprises have slowed down, and the industrial activity has dropped significantly.

But in general, the short-term influencing factors are generally controllable. In the second half of the year, the national policy measures to deal with the "triple pressure" continued to exert force. The equipment manufacturing industry and high-tech manufacturing industry played a good role in driving the service industry. The service industry recovered steadily. The operation still has the basis for stabilization and recovery, and the express delivery index is expected to rise simultaneously.
