UAE citizens acquired the largest share of the capital's hotel guests during the first half of this year, with a share of 29%, or the equivalent of 528,000 guests.

In terms of non-Emirati nationalities, the Indian nationalities came in the lead with a share of 12%, or the equivalent of 219,000 guests, an increase of 37% compared to the same period last year, followed by the Filipino and British nationalities with a share of 4.5%, or the equivalent of 82,000 guests each, in The Egyptian nationality registered about 4%, or the equivalent of 77,000 guests, with a growth rate of 4% over the same period last year.

In turn, the Saudi nationality acquired a 3% share, equivalent to 57,000 inmates, while the number of Pakistani nationals reached 55,000, the American 55,000, and the Jordanian 42,000, the French registered 38,000, and the German 35,000.

According to the department's data, five-star hotels achieved a growth in the number of guests by 40%, to 831,000 guests during the first half, with an average occupancy of 63%, a growth of 10% over the same period last year.

Four-star hotels recorded an increase in the number of guests by 6% to 554,000 guests, with an average occupancy of 78% and an increase of 4%.

The number of hotel guests in the categories of one star, two stars and three stars increased by 13% to 276,000 guests, and the average occupancy increased by 5% to 74%.

In turn, hotel apartments recorded a 16% growth in the number of guests to 179,000, and the average occupancy increased to 79%.

Abu Dhabi city acquired the largest share of hotel guests, with 1.61 million guests during the first half, with a growth rate of 25%, while the number of hotel guests in the Al Ain region reached about 169,000, with an increase of 3%, and the number of hotel guests in the Al Dhafra region reached about 60 thousand, with an increase It is 8%.
