Therefore, a scheme in which Germany would rely on gas supplies through Ukraine as a replacement for Nord Stream is not working, he said.

Earlier, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the situation around the supply of turbines for Nord Stream by Gazprom.

According to him, it is important for Gazprom to obtain legal documents stating that "this turbine is not authorized."

On July 25, Gazprom announced that it was stopping the operation of another Siemens gas turbine engine at the Portovaya CS.

The company said it received documents from Canadian authorities regarding the turbine from Siemens, but questions remain about EU and UK sanctions, the solution of which is important for the delivery of the turbine to Russia.

An expert of the National Energy Security Fund, a lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, Stanislav Mitrakhovich, in an interview with RT, commented on the situation around the turbine for Nord Stream.
