The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Edge Group signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the "Industry 4.0 Empowerment Center", the first of its kind in the UAE, which will support digital transformation and the adoption of "Industry 4.0" technologies in the country's manufacturing sector.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, Sarah Al Amiri, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDGE, Faisal Al Bannai, and the Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, Mansour Al Mulla.

Under the partnership, the Edge Group will host a series of initiatives, training courses and programs at the new “Industry 4.0 Empowerment Center” starting from September 2022, with the aim of accelerating technology adoption in the industrial sector, enhancing cooperation within the advanced technology system in the UAE, and developing innovative technological solutions in companies The industrial sector in the country, including developing its industries and products.

The center will focus on raising awareness about “Industry 4.0” technologies and practices, improving the skills and capabilities of manufacturers through specialized training curricula, explaining the benefits of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, supporting the development of “Industry 4.0” strategies, and creating a test platform and an open environment for everyone to experiment with innovative technologies and participate in their development. , which is reflected in the industries in the UAE.

The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, said: “Our partnership with (EDGE) confirms the ministry’s tendency to benefit from the experiences of local industry leaders, to encourage knowledge exchange in the private sector.

For her part, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, Sarah Al Amiri, said: “The memorandum of understanding with EDGE Group comes with the aim of enhancing our industrial competitiveness, as the establishment of the first (Industry Empowerment Center 4.0) in the country is a major achievement in the journey of transformation of the sector,” pointing out that The center will help empower the industry by supporting companies to adopt advanced technology and upgrading the skills of the workforce, thus enhancing productivity.
