  According to reports, in the first half of the year, my country's service trade maintained rapid growth.

The total import and export of services was 2,891.09 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 21.6%; of which service exports were 1,405.95 billion yuan, an increase of 24.6%; imports were 1,485.14 billion yuan, an increase of 18.9%.

The growth of service exports was 5.7 percentage points higher than that of imports, driving the service trade deficit to drop by 34.3% to 79.19 billion yuan.

In June, the total import and export volume of services in my country was 525.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%.

Mainly present the following characteristics:

  Trade in knowledge-intensive services continued to grow steadily.

In the first half of the year, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services was 1,214.49 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8%.

Among them, the export of knowledge-intensive services was 682.8 billion yuan, an increase of 13.1%; the areas with faster export growth were telecommunications, computer and information services, and other business services, which increased by 16.3% and 13.9% respectively.

The import of knowledge-intensive services was 531.69 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9%; the fast-growing field of imports was insurance services, with a growth rate of 82.1%.

  Imports and exports of travel services continued to recover.

In the first half of the year, my country's import and export of travel services reached 393.55 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2%, of which exports fell by 21.8% and imports increased by 11.6%.

Excluding travel services, in the first half of the year, my country's import and export of services increased by 24%, of which exports increased by 26.2% and imports increased by 21.5%; compared with the same period in 2019, service imports and exports increased by 52.8%, of which exports increased by 67.8% and imports increased by 37.6%.
