“The sanctions regimes of Canada, the EU, the UK and the inconsistency of the current situation with the current contractual obligations on the part of Siemens make the delivery of the 073 engine to the Portovaya CS impossible,” the company said in a Telegram statement.

On July 25, Gazprom announced that it was stopping the operation of another Siemens gas turbine engine at the Portovaya CS.

The company reported that it received documents from Canadian authorities regarding the turbine from Siemens, but questions remain about EU and UK sanctions, the solution of which is important for the delivery of the turbine to Russia.
