“The simplest solution would be to put the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline into operation,” Schroeder said.

He noted that “when things get really tight”, then the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines exist, and there will be no problems with gas supplies for German industry and German households.

Earlier, Schroeder advocated the continuation of contacts with Russia.

As Der Spiegel reported in July, Schroeder's wife announced his arrival in Moscow to conduct negotiations on energy.
