Belov recalled that the last denomination in Russia was carried out in 1998, when old banknotes were withdrawn through retail chains and credit organizations.

In just three years of the denomination, 6 billion banknotes were exchanged in the country, he said.

Earlier, Belov said that the Central Bank of Russia could resume printing banknotes of five and ten rubles at the end of the year.

Earlier, on June 30, the Bank of Russia put into circulation a new 100-ruble banknote.

Candidate of Economic Sciences Mikhail Belyaev commented in an interview with RT on the introduction by the Central Bank of a new 100-ruble banknote into circulation.
