Six out of eight automakers in Japan produced less than the same period in the previous year for the six months from January to June.

In addition to the shortage of semiconductors, the delay in parts procurement due to restrictions on going out in Shanghai, China, had an impact.

According to the announcements of eight major automakers, domestic and overseas production in half a year was

▽ Mazda decreased by 18.3% from the same period of the previous year,

▽ Nissan Motor 14.5%

▽ Honda 10.2%

▽ Mitsubishi Motors decreased by 8.7%

▽ Toyota Motor decreased by 3.4%

▽ Daihatsu decreased by 1.8%.

In addition to the global shortage of semiconductors, restrictions on going out in Shanghai, China due to the spread of the new corona infection have delayed the procurement of parts from business partners, forcing each company to reduce production.

▽ Suzuki increased production by 4.8% in the main Indian market, and ▽ SUBARU also increased by 0.9%.

The future of automobile production remains uncertain, with some manufacturers shutting down their domestic factories due to the spread of the new corona infection in Japan.

On the other hand, in terms of sales, Toyota Motors has sold more than 5.13 million units worldwide for the six months since January, including Daihatsu Motors and Hino Motors.

It is expected to surpass the Volkswagen Group in Germany and become the world's top seller for the third consecutive year during this period.
