It has barely survived for the past three months, but it is difficult to predict how the economic report card will come out in the third quarter of July, August, and September.

<Reporter> The

price of cooking oil sold at supermarkets has risen twice this year.

Olive oil, which was priced at 13,900 won at the beginning of this year based on 900ml, rose to 18,000 won last month, and sunflower oil also rose by 2,000 won from 7,300 won at the beginning of this year to 9,300 won.

But there are rumors that food price hikes are just beginning.

Food companies usually make products from raw materials contracted six months ago, so they explain that the increase reflects international prices at the beginning of the year.

The increase in the price of atomic ash since the spring due to the Ukraine crisis was largely unaccounted for.

[Food industry official: I think it is certain that this year is the year with the most cost pressure.

This should get better, but things are getting worse.

It seems that raising the price does not seem to make up for the performance.]

Recently, international raw material prices are trending down slightly, but the exchange rate is still high and there are many variables.

[Lee Mi-sook / Korea Rural Economic Research Institute Overseas Grain Observation: Grain prices are gradually falling, so there is a possibility that they will go down, but there are some variables because you have to look at the weather conditions and the condition of crops in South America.

] In this situation, there is growing concern that the food industry has started to raise prices in earnest.
