“If we are talking about the launch of Nord Stream 2, then in fact certification is not required, in such an experimental mode it was done with Nord Stream, Germany can receive gas through the gas pipeline without even having a full decision on accepting it in permanent operation.

If such a need arose, then I think that the decision could be made very quickly, ”the analyst emphasized.

According to him, the gas pipeline is under pressure, deliveries can be started within a few hours if a decision is made.

The expert added that economically such a decision would be beneficial for Germany. 

Earlier, the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection stated that they consider the issue of operating Nord Stream 2 to be irrelevant, since the pipeline is not certified. 

On June 16, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, speaking at the SPIEF, recalled that gas can be supplied to Germany via Nord Stream 2 already today, the gas pipeline is under pressure, but it is not certified.
