[Explanation] On July 14, the National Bureau of Statistics of China announced the production data of summer grain in 2022. The total output of summer grain in the country this year was 147.39 million tons, a record high.
Last year, affected by the superposition of floods and autumn floods, the 12 million mu of wheat in Henan was seriously sown late.
Even so, Henan's wheat sown area and total output this year ranked first in the country.

Last year, our Henan Province suffered from the impact of the extremely large autumn floods and floods, which were rare in history. The large area of late planting of wheat, the high proportion of three types of seedlings, the complex types of seedlings, and the difficulty of field management were unprecedented in history.
I have been working on wheat cultivation for 45 years and have never met one.
[Explanation] This June is the first summer harvest after Henan experienced floods in July 2021.
A reporter from China News Agency visited a number of grain-producing areas in Henan, and the wheat in the flood storage area was harvested and yielded well, with an average yield of over 1,000 catties per mu.

Because we in Henan Province have paid close attention to the "four supplements" technology to increase the production of wheat, we have ensured the stability of the wheat sowing area.
After the emergence of wheat, the management of winter and spring wheat fields with the focus on promoting the weak and strong; ) paid close attention to the "one spray and three defenses".
Due to these (key yield-increasing technologies) measures, stubble suppression, follow-up and recruitment were effective, and the weather conditions were generally favorable, which promoted the upgrading and transformation of seedling growth.
Therefore, this year's wheat in Henan has high yield, good quality and high price, and the proportion of first- and second-class wheat is very high, which is rare in recent years.
[Explanation] In addition to field management, Guo Tiancai said that this year's summer grain harvest also lies in the promotion and application of scientific and technological achievements and practical technologies such as seed industry innovation, integration of supporting cultivation technologies, soil testing and formula fertilization, green comprehensive prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, and the acceleration of high-standard farmland building.

The accelerated construction of high-standard farmland has significantly improved the ability of agriculture to resist and reduce disasters and comprehensive grain production.
Of course, there is also a very important one, that is, our agricultural science and technology personnel at all levels, during the critical period of wheat (production), go to the front line of production to guide farmers to fight against disasters and achieve a bumper harvest.
[Explanation] So, why did the Henan summer grain after the catastrophe create another miracle of harvest?
Guo Tiancai told reporters that the rapid and efficient implementation of relevant policies and measures by various departments at all levels is also the key.

In response to the unfavorable start of wheat production this year, the country and the province have increased policy support for this year's wheat production.
All departments at all levels in Henan Province take the same responsibility for food security as the Party and government as the top priority, and (to implement) our late-planting wheat production increase technology.
[Explanation] Under the new situation where the risk of the global food crisis has further increased due to multiple factors such as the international environment and the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Guo Tiancai said that it was hard-won to gain another bumper wheat harvest in Henan, which is of great significance and experience is invaluable.

Henan is the largest wheat-producing province in the country, and wheat production is the first season of grain production in the whole year.
